Forest Rides

We cater for both the novice and experienced rider offering small group hacks with people of similar ability as well as private or semi private rides.

Riding from Ford Farm is completely off road over the thousands of acres of forest and heath land to travel across.

We try to offer visitors the best possible chance of seeing some of the fantastic landscape and wildlife the forest has to offer from the comfort of our well mannered riding school horses and ponies.

Rides are led by members of our experienced team and a maximum of 6 people can make up a group for one hour, one and a half hour and two hour hacks.

For those less confident riders or those just curious to have a try, we also offer a half hour lead out on to the forest with a member of staff accompanying the ride on foot. This type of hack is particularly good for young children looking to ride for the first time.

Lessons

Lessons are available from our variety of highly qualified instructors. Private and group lessons are offered both at weekends and during the week although it is recommended to book with as much notice as possible particularly during holiday periods.

Lessons are carried out in either of our 2 arenas, one indoor and one outdoor. Tuition is offered in half or three quarter hour periods with group lessons lasting for one hour.

We also hold regular children's clubs on both days of the weekend for children who are of a similar ability and wish to learn more about the care of the ponies. Clubs consist of a group lesson as well as a period of stable management to include learning tasks like grooming, tacking up and untacking.
